All are welcome here!
At Southminster, everybody is known. We are a community that rejoices together, mourns together and everything in between. There is room for everybody at Southminster–we welcome all with open arms.
Southminster Presbyterian Church was born on March 30th, 1833 when 24 members of the Greenwood Presbyterian Church were set apart by the Presbytery of Indianapolis. We were known then as the New Providence Church. In 1852 a group of members moved to Acton and formed the Acton Presbyterian Church. That church was later dissolved in 1960 and re-established on the current site at Southminster Presbyterian Church. The church was dedicated on April 8th, 1962. The name was changed to Southminster Presbyterian Church in 1989.
Today, we maintain a traditional feel, but we believe God is doing something new here! The world is busy and distracted, but we experience sincerity, simplicity and peace that we believe the world needs!
We desire to be a welcoming church where families and individuals in our community can enjoy God and one another, and together, grow in faith and service. We strive to imitate Christ’s love and compassion in the world!
We’re more than a congregation; we’re a team on a shared journey of faith and service. Here, you’re not just a spectator-you’re an active participant in a larger mission.
We prioritize spiritual growth and serving our community, living out the teachings of Christ together.
Whether you are seeking, questioning, or already believe, you’re welcome to join us!
Growing in Faith.
Going to Serve.
Together, as One.
